The 2025 Global Forum on Agriculture (GFA 2025) at OECD Headquarters, Paris, France

On 28th October 2025, Dr. Kanjana Kwanmuang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Office of Agricultural Economics, as Head of Thai delegation, together with Ms. Hirunya Srasom, Director of the International Agricultural Economics Division and officials from the International Agricultural Economics Division (IAED), attended the 2025 Global Forum on Agriculture (GFA) at the OECD headquarters, Paris, France.

The meeting was held to address challenges arising from the aging agricultural population, succession in farming businesses, and the renewal of the farming generation. GFA 2025 focused on the theme “Attracting the Next Generation of Farmers for the Future of Agriculture,” exploring strategies to enhance the appeal of the agricultural sector to newcomers from diverse backgrounds and to promote career development opportunities in the digital era.

At the 4th session, the Deputy Secretary-General of OAE contributed to discussions on policy approaches to attract new farmers for the future of agriculture. She highlighted initiatives to develop “Smart Farmers” and “Young Smart Farmers” through policies aimed at strengthening farmers’ skills and farmer organizations. These efforts are intended to serve as key drivers for advancing Thailand’s agricultural sector toward becoming the “World’s Kitchen” in the future.
